The Phoenix Adbuild Team

Ben Tivey
Managing Director
Hi everyone, I’m Ben Tivey and I’m incredibly excited to be introducing you to Phoenix Adbuild!
My journey in the Out-of-Home (OOH) and Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertising industry spans 19 years, and it’s been quite the adventure. I started from the ground up, literally, as a bill poster, and worked my way through every role – labourer, team leader, site manager. I was fortunate to learn the ropes on everything from traditional paper and paste to the early days of backlights and turning signs. Then, the digital revolution hit, and it was like a whole new world opened up!
In 2018, I became Operations Manager, leading some truly exciting flagship projects. However, life threw me a curveball in early 2024, and for the first time in nearly two decades, I found myself without a job. But, as they say, when one door closes, another opens. I gathered my closest colleagues and mentors for a breakfast near Sevenoaks, shared my vision, and collectively Phoenix Adbuild was born!
The past year has been a whirlwind, filled with every emotion imaginable. But at the heart of it all, I believe our team thrives because we share a genuine passion and enjoyment for what we do.
Outside of work, I’m a dedicated family man. You’ll often find me mountain biking, playing snooker, or clay pigeon shooting. And most weekends are spent exploring the countryside or going on adventures with my 3 beautiful kids and our dog.
I’d love to connect and share more about how Phoenix Adbuild can bring your vision to life!

Mick Shircore
Operations Director
My career in the Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising industry began in 1983, providing me with a unique, ground-level perspective. I served my apprenticeship ‘on the tools,’ gaining invaluable hands-on experience across all facets of the industry.
This broad foundation, coupled with my intimate understanding of the industry’s progression, laid the groundwork for my subsequent progression into management, where I’ve leveraged my practical understanding to drive operational efficiency and ensure a safe, productive work environment. These early years were incredibly diverse, encompassing everything from staff recruitment and daily work scheduling to the crucial implementation of robust Health and Safety policies during the industry’s formative stages. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the remarkable evolution of OOH, from traditional paper and paste applications, through the introduction of three-sided turning signs and backlights, to the dynamic digital creations we see today.
In 2009, during the economic recession, I faced a significant career shift, transitioning from my long-held position at my first company to join another OOH firm. This move placed me right at the forefront of the digital boom, allowing me to gain critical experience in the rapid deployment of digital DOOH solutions.
More recently, in March 2024, circumstances presented an opportunity for me to aim in a new direction. Recognising the potential for a fresh approach within the DOOH sector, I joined forces with two experienced partners. Together, we co-founded a new sign company, driven by a dynamic management team and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions. With our combined decades of experience, we’re dedicated to bringing a fresh outlook and unparalleled expertise to the industry.
In my downtime, I enjoy pursuing some rather unique hobbies that offer both relaxation and a sense of discovery. You can often find me on the beach or in the field with my trusty metal detector, uncovering hidden historic treasures, or immersed in my antique bottle collection, a passion that has made me quite well-known within the antique bottle world.
